What to watch before the market moves

A repeatable pre-trade briefing for separating broad market strength from short-lived attention.

Start with the market regime

Before looking for an individual coin, determine whether risk is expanding or contracting. Compare Bitcoin and Ethereum direction, total market volume, stablecoin behavior, and whether gains are broad or concentrated in a few names. A rising asset inside a weakening market deserves a different risk plan than one moving with broad participation.

Pre-market scan
  • Are major assets confirming the same direction?
  • Is volume supporting the move or fading?
  • Are gains spreading across sectors or isolated?
  • Has volatility expanded enough to change position sizing?

Separate attention from confirmation

Social activity can reveal where traders are looking, but attention is not the same as demand. Compare the timing of public posts with price and volume. Sudden mentions after a large move may indicate late attention; a steady increase accompanied by improving liquidity may deserve further research.

A stronger setup usually has multiple inputs

Look for agreement between price structure, traded volume, liquidity, scheduled news, and credible primary sources. If the thesis depends on one influencer post or an unexplained spike, treat uncertainty as part of the position—not as a detail to ignore.

Build the week around known catalysts

Scheduled upgrades, token unlocks, governance votes, exchange decisions, economic releases, and project announcements can change volatility. Record the date, source, expected outcome, and what would invalidate your interpretation. The announcement itself may already be priced in.

Plan the reaction you need to see before deciding that an event is bullish or bearish.

Define risk before entry

Write down the entry condition, invalidation level, maximum loss, and exit plan before a fast market makes those decisions emotional. For thinly traded assets, account for slippage and the possibility that the displayed price cannot be realized at your desired size.
